A woman has been charged with vandalizing a store and assault on two Youngstown police officers after an incident Saturday on the north side of the city.

Kelly Kraeling, 43, is in Mahoning County Jail after being charged with two fourth-degree felonies for assault as well as a fifth-degree vandalism count.

Police said Kraeling is accused of throwing items off the shelves, including several glass items at a Belmont Avenue store and caused $500 of damage and temporarily closed the store.

After being taken into custody, police said Kraeling grabbed a pen from the officer and stabbed herself in the hand. According to reports, she kicked an officer twice as they retrieved the pen and hit another officer in the eye. In addition, police said she wasn’t cooperative when she was being booked into jail.
