Youngstown police helps woman recover stolen vehicle
Youngstown Police were recently called to a residence on East Midlothian Blvd concerning a stolen vehicle.
According to the police report, the resident and caller noticed that her 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 was missing from her driveway at 6:45 the morning of March 13.
According to the report, she told police that she normally left her key fob inside the truck because she tends to lose it. She usually locks the truck using her cell phone, which she forgot to do the night before.
The report states that the police officer then entered her vehicle as being stolen. ONSTAR then worked with the police to get the truck’s location. When the truck came to a stop at The Big Apple Supermarket on McGuffey, the truck was disabled remotely by ONSTAR.
Officers then located the truck in the parking lot. The report states that as officers approached the vehicle, the offender William Jones exited the truck where he was detained and placed under arrest for receiving stolen property.
According to the report, she was then brought to the supermarket by police where she retrieved her truck.
