Honorees inducted into Greater Youngstown League of Women Voters Hall of Fame
The League of Women Voters of Greater Youngstown inducted seven women into the organization’s hall of fame during International Women’s History Month.
The League of Women Voters held the eighth Women’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony Wednesday evening at the Jewish Community Center in Youngstown.
Women’s Hall of Fame honorees:
Paige Fortner is the manager of the Senior Support Action Group at Family and Community Services, Inc.
Kathie Chaffe Gaige is the chair of the League of Women Voters of Greater Youngstown’s Voter Services Committee.
Shari Harrell is the recently-retired past president of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley.
Lisa Resnick is the founder and CEO of Dandelion-Inc.
Dr. Alexis Smith is the immediate past co-medical director at the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center at Bon Secours Mercy Health.
Ra’Cole Taltoan is the owner of Rockbrook Business services.
Samie Winick is a retired educator with Youngstown City Schools.
Several sponsors helped raise money during the Hall of Fame event to support the League’s voter education efforts and the publication of the annual Voter Information Guide.
The Voter Information Guide is available free of charge in English and Spanish. Print copies will be available in advance of the November 2024 general election at locations throughout Mahoning County including public libraries, churches, non-profit organizations and local businesses.
There’s also an online version that will available on the league’s website.
