Youngstown City School District launched its first-ever podcast, Belly-Left Leadership, hosted by YCSD Superintendent Jeremy Batchelor. The podcast is recorded at Choffin Career and Technical Center and produced by high school Choffin scholars.

Where did the podcast get its name?

The podcast’s name comes from a simple football play, Belly-Left, that required a lot of preparation, planning, and a true understanding of what everyone’s role is. The podcast has taken that philosophy and connected it to leadership. The mantra is centered on understanding people’s roles, as well as focusing on the right things and being prepared to do those things.

The Belly-Left Leadership Podcast is another way the district is staying connected to our families by informing them about the latest at the district and getting to know our educators and scholars personally,” said YCSD Superintendent Jeremy Batchelor. “We’ll also speak with local leaders about their leadership philosophy and how their organizations impact change in the Valley.”

The podcast will be posted monthly and is available at Choffin’s Broadcasting YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wXwi95p77o.

The premier episode includes guests Choffin Career and Technical Center Director Dr. Michael Saville and Principal of Volney Elementary Kelly Weeks.
