Liberty Township police arrested two people on Sunday morning for stealing property from a vehicle parked on Norwick Drive.

Police responded to a call about suspicious activity in the area of Norwick Drive in Liberty Township. The investigators said they found one person inside the cab of a truck parked in the driveway in front of a house.

Police said after their investigation, they believed the man was trespassing at the residence and “helping himself to items within the vehicle.”

Officers said he gave a fake name before being arrested and taken to Trumbull County Jail.

A second man was arrested by police officers after he was ran from their patrol car. He was later identified as an accomplice in the theft on Norwick Drive, which turned out to involve more vehicles than just the truck.

“Our detectives are currently working on cataloging the recovered property and returning it to their owners,” the department wrote on Facebook. “Great job by all involved in bringing this case to a close.”

Liberty police reminded residents to remove valuable items from their cars and always lock their doors.
