Warren man faces up to 11 years after pleading guilty to assault, burglary charges

Armonte North, 23, of Hamilton Street Southwest, Warren, pleaded guilty Tuesday before Judge Ronald J. Rice of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to second-degree felonious assault and third-degree burglary felony charges.

North, who could face indefinite prison sentences of 11 to 15 years, will be sentenced after he undergoes a background investigation conducted by probation officers.

On Sept. 24, 2023, a residence in the 700 block of West Market Street was broken into, and a male victim was struck in the head, suffering a severe cut to his head that required seven staples to close, prosecutors stated. North was named as the assailant, and has been in custody since Sept. 26, 2023, records show.
