A 38-year-old Alliance man turned himself in to Boardman police at 11 a.m. March 27 after he learned there was an active warrant against him for a theft charge.

The man was accused of stealing two toys and two video games from the Mr. Darby’s Antique and Collectible Emporium at 8574 Market Street in Boardman. A worker at the store reported the theft occurred between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on March 8. The suspect was approximately 6 feet tall and weighed 250 pounds with a “chin-strap” beard and short-cut brown hair. He was accompanied by a woman about 5 foot 7 inches tall and 150 pounds.

No value of the stolen items was given in the police report.

The worker provided police with two still images of the suspects taken from security cameras located inside the store. The suspects were last seen getting into an older maroon Chevrolet Trailblazer heading southbound. The woman was not seen taking anything from the store, the Boardman police report stated.

The Alliance man will be arraigned on a first-degree misdemeanor theft charge at 8:30 a.m. April 2 in Mahoning County Court in Boardman.
