Man injured in Youngstown shooting
A Youngstown man was found by police officers lying on the sidewalk in the 1300 block of Humboldt Avenue about 2:10 a.m. March 26 with a gunshot wound to the inner left thigh.
Officers removed the victim’s pants, the Youngstown police report stated, but they didn’t administer any First Aid. The victim didn’t give any details about why or how he was shot. Paramedics transported the victim to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital where it was determined he had three bullet wounds to the leg and was in stable condition.
The report stated an officer found a .45-caliber gold spent shell casing in the driveway of the home, the same type as the live round found where the victim was lying, the report stated. Officers talked to a witness who said he didn’t see the shooting but was driving on the road and noticed the victim lying on the ground.
No arrests were made and the investigation is continuing.
