The following cases were handled Monday before Judge Cynthia Rice of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court:

  • George Chambers Jr., 53, formerly of Masury and now living in Chesapeake, Va., pleaded guilty to an amended indictment charging him with trespassing into a habitation (f4) and theft from a person in a protected class (f5). Chambers, who could face a maximum 30-month prison sentence, will be sentenced after undergoing a background investigation conducted by probation officers. Chambers was questioned by Brookfield police on Sept. 10, 2023, after a camper was parked on a Ulp Street property in Brookfield. The investigation found that Chambers and his co-defendant had entered the home on the property and used utilities as well as washed clothes in the washing machine.
  • Adrionna Sherman, 29, of Lane Drive SW, Warren, pleaded guilty to an amended indictment charging her with fifth-degree theft felony. A misdemeanor charge of falsification was dismissed as part of the plea agreement with prosecutors. Sherman was sentenced to a two-year probation which will coincide with his sentence for a Summit County conviction where he is serving six month in a community lockup facility. The case involved an Oct. 4, 2023, theft of $2,265 in merchandise from Kohl’s in Howland. Prosecutors stated all items that were taken from the store were recovered, and no restitution was needed in the case.
