Struthers man arrested on charges of stealing 351 packs of baseball cards with his son, 7
A 36-year-old Struthers man was arrested after he and his 7-year-old son were apprehended by security personnel at the Boardman Walmart Superstore at 1300 Doral Drive after the two were caught with a buggy full of baseball cards that were taken out of the store without being paid for.
According to a Boardman police report, security officers at 1:44 p.m. on March 29 watched a man fill a buggy with hundreds of packs of baseball cards and then walk past all points of sale before exiting the store with his 7-year-old son.
The man, identified as Eric Wilson, 36, of Struthers, was taken to the store’s security office where police charged him with fifth-degree theft felony and endangering children. The baseball cards, all 351 packs valued at $3,396, were recovered.
What happened to the 7-year-old?
Reports said the boy was turned over to the custody of a grandmother before Wilson was arrested.
