Youngstown Education Association, Youngstown City School District reach tentative deal
The Youngstown Education Association and the Youngstown City School District have reached a tentative deal on a new contract which would eliminate the chance of a second strike in the last two years.
Youngstown Education Association spokesman Jim Courim confirmed the decision Monday, but said the union has not ratified the contract yet.
Youngstown City School District Stacy Quinones said the Youngstown Board of Education will review the tentative agreement.
“We sincerely thank the YEA bargaining team for a collegial process,” she said.
No other information was immediately available.
The Youngstown Education Association struck for 31 days in August and September last year before the strike ended with a one-year deal.
