A Youngstown man was arrested on Thursday after getting caught with fentanyl wrapped around a lottery ticket in his car.

Youngstown police conducted a traffic stop on a man on East Midlothian Boulevard. While speaking to the suspect inside his 2003 Honda Accord, an officer noticed a folded lottery ticket at his feet, according to a police report. The officer noted that this particular fold was common in holding drugs.

Officers instructed to exit the car and gave him a pat-down while he was read his rights. Afterward, the man admitted to police that he had drugs in his possession, according to the report.

Police then promptly conducted a probable cause search and found two folded papers that had drugs in the floorboards and on the left side of the driver’s seat, the report indicated. After conducting tests, they reported that they found the drugs to be fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Further searches of his car found a small plastic bag in the center console containing an unknown powder. The man told officers that the powder was different drugs laced together, according to the report.

The suspect was subsequently put under arrest and accused of two counts of possession of drugs and transported to Mahoning County Jail. All evidence was put into police lockers and his car was towed by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
