Man threatens to blow up Boardman McDonald’s with a bomb, police find no explosives
A man threatened to use a bomb to blow up a McDonald’s after reportedly getting impatient while waiting for his food.
Boardman police were dispatched to a McDonald’s on Boardman Poland Road on Sunday after an employee reported that they received the bomb threat.
Employees told police that an unknown man stated angrily that he had been waiting for ten minutes and that there was a bomb in the parking lot that was going to blow up everyone at the store. The man also stated that they were lucky he didn’t “shoot everyone up” before hanging up, according to a police report.
Employees promptly called Boardman police who brought in their K9 unit to detect any bombs near the building. The dog alerted officers near a trash can, according to the report, but after careful examination, no explosives were found.
Police interviewed other customers on whether there were any aggravated customers in the store, but no one recalled any people of interest. No arrests were made in this case, and the investigation is ongoing.
