A 19-year-old woman crashed her car into the rear of another parked car on Friday, injuring herself in the process, while reportedly drunk.

The woman crashed her black Cadillac into another parked car on Sheridan Road. No one was in the other vehicle. A witness called Boardman police to the scene who found the Cadillac with heavy damage to the front of her car and the airbag out, according to the police report.

Officers observed that the woman had a strong odor of alcohol, dilated eyes and was slurring her words. She was later arrested on a charge of Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI).

She was also visibly injured with a bleeding lip and scratches on her legs and chest. She reportedly refused medical treatment, but an ambulance was called anyways to have her treated.

When officers asked the woman what had happened, she responded with “I don’t know, I guess I hit them,” according to the report. She also said she only had “just a shot” when she was asked if she had anything to drink.

Officers conducted several sobriety tests on the woman, including a blood alcohol test. Her results on the breathalyzer came to a 0.163. A DUI in Ohio starts from a blood alcohol level of 0.08. She also failed other sobriety tests conducted on scene.

She was immediately arrested and taken to the Boardman Police Department. Police soon released her to the care of her mother with the OVI citation and a criminal court date set for Tuesday.
