Looking for fireworks? Here’s how the Mahoning Valley celebrates Fourth of July
Celebrations start this weekend with fireworks shows leading up to Thursday for July Fourth in surrounding Mahoning Valley neighborhoods.
Here’s a list of several fireworks shows and celebrations happening for Independence Day in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.

Mahoning County
Canfield: Visit the Canfield Fairgrounds this Saturday evening for Fourth of July celebration; gates open at 5:30 p.m. for live music performed by Backbeat at 7:30 p.m., bounce houses and food. Fireworks start at 10 p.m. at the fairgrounds. Only cash is accepted at the event; it’s $10 per car and $2 per walk in.
- Austintown: It’s the tenth year of the Austintown Fireworks Celebration this Sunday at noon with activtiies and music for families at Hollywood Gaming in Austintown. The celebration wraps up with fireworks around 10 p.m. All activities are free, like live music, petting zoos and kids’ activities, autographs with Cleveland Guardians baseball player Carlos Baegra and Cleveland Browns “Top Dawg” Hanford Dixon. - Youngstown: At 5 p.m. on Thursday, Mayor Jamael “Tito” Brown is hosting the Youngstown Walk of Fame ceremony at the Wean Park Walking Path by the Market Street Bridge. Food trucks will be at Wean Park for a tailgate and lawn party from 6 - 10 p.m. followed by fireworks at dark.
Trumbull County
- Niles: Head to Eastwood Field for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers Fourth of July game against the West Virginia Black Bears with a fireworks show finale. City of Niles residents get four free tickets to the game for Niles Appreciation Night.
Columbiana County
- Columbiana: Fireworks at Firestone is a family-friendly free all-day event at Firestone Park on the Fourth of July starting at 8:15 a.m. with a pickleball tournament. There are several eating contests throughout the day, like ice cream and pizza, cornhole competitions and a pet costume contest and parade on South Main Street. There’s live music throughout the night and skydivers at 7:30 p.m., followed by fireworks at 10 p.m. Check the Fireworks at Firestone website for the full schedule.
- East Palestine: The East Palestine Firefighters Association hosts the Fourth of July celebration, “a day full of fun for all ages” Thursday at 1 p.m. in the East Palestine Village Park, with food from vendors like Smoke Worx Street Cuisine and The Snack Shack. Listen to live music performed by Cassie and Dave at 2:30 - 4 p.m. Fireworks are set to start around 10 p.m.
