‘Marking a new tradition:’ City unveiling Youngstown Walk of Fame
The Youngstown community is invited to attend the official unveiling ceremony of the city’s Walk of Fame.
Mayor Jamael “Tito” Brown is hosting the Youngstown Walk of Fame ceremony at 5 p.m. on the Fourth of July at the Wean Park Walking Path by the Market Street Bridge.
“We are thrilled to celebrate Youngstown’s legacy and honor those who have significantly contributed to our community’s cultural and historical fabric,” said Mayor Brown. “This event marks a new tradition of recognizing the individuals and groups that make our city proud.”
During the red carpet ceremony, the city will unveil the new Youngstown Walk of Fame sign and the first marker for Robert and Ronald Bell, members of Kool & the Gang.
Last summer, the Youngstown natives received the very first Youngstown Walk of Fame honor ahead of a concert at the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheater.
This year, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland inducted the band into its 2024 class of elite musicians.
Mayor Brown will also announce the 2024 Walk of Fame honorees.
