A man and woman are being investigated by police for hitting people with baseball bats.

Youngstown police were called to Chaney Circle on the city’s West Side at about 6:30 p.m. Monday to quell a fight in the street between a group of people.

According to the report, officers separated the combatants and the aggressors were identified as William Profanchik, 35, and Patricia Foster, 34, both of Hazelwood Avenue, Youngstown.

The report stated the two drove to the address in their car with three children and came at three separate people with baseball bats. Each victim was struck about the head and body, the report stated with one being hit in the head with a fist thrown by Profanchik.

Profanchik and Foster admitted to officers to taking bats to the victims because of an argument that was started when the victims had come to their North Hazelwood Avenue home in a vehicle earlier in the day.

The victims couldn’t identify the issues that started the argument or the fight, the report stated. Both Profanchik and Foster were charged with two counts felonious assault and are still in custody in Mahoning County jail pending an appearance in Youngstown Municipal Court, the report stated.

The three children that were with them were turned over to the custody of their father, the report stated.
