A Buick Lacrosse disregarded a stop sign at East High Avenue and Albert Street and police officers activated lights and sirens to pull the vehicle over, the report stated. In the process of making the stop, the Buick continued northbound on Albert Street for several blocks at slow speed.

During this time, the report stated officers observed the driver to be leaning and moving quickly throughout the interior of the vehicle, causing the vehicle to veer right and strike the curb twice. When the vehicle went off the road next to some woods, officers reportedly observed a dark object being thrown from the vehicle.

The driver, later identified as Travail Miller, 24, was handcuffed, and officer searched the shoulder of the roadway and reportedly found a loaded, black Taurus TX firearm laying on top of some grass. A female passenger was also ordered out of the vehicle and questioned.

Miller was charged with improper handling of firearm in motor vehicle and tampering with evidence, both felonies, and taken to Mahoning County Jail.

Youngstown Municipal Court records show Miller was arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Friday when a bond is expected to be set.
