“High temperatures are forecast to soar as much as 20-30 degrees above the historical average for mid-April. Temperatures in the 80s and 90s are more of an early summer feel, more common high temperatures for late May or June,” said AccuWeather senior meteorologist Matt Benz.

Currently, the highs will be in the upper 70s on Friday and Saturday, with feel-like temperatures around 80 degrees.

The National Weather Service has been tracking drought and fire risks associated with the spring heat wave across the country, but both are low in Ohio. In fact, rain is expected to fall Saturday night, bringing much cooler weather on Sunday. On Sunday, highs will only reach around 49 and lows will dip down to 32.
