Howland, West Branch, Crestview top Mahoning Matters Super 7 girls’ rankings
The Howland Tigers remain No. 1 in the Mahoning Matters Super 7 girls’ basketball poll.
Howland
The Tigers are 9-2 on the season.
They host Canfield in a huge All-American Conference game Wednesday night.
West Branch
West Branch (11-2) has jumped from No. 3 to No. 2 after its 23-point win over an outstanding Boardman team last Saturday.
The Warriors travel to Marlington Wednesday evening.
Crestview
Crestview is No. 3 this week. The Division III Rebels are 14-0 and coming off an impressive
65-27 win over a one-loss LaBrae team on Monday night.
Warren JFK
The Warren JFK Eagles are No. 4 this week.
The Eagles are 10-2 and on a three-game winning streak.
Boardman
The Boardman Spartans check in at No. 5.
The Spartans are 8-3 and have won four of their last 5 games.
Canfield
The Canfield Cardinals are ranked No. 6.
Canfield is just 6-5 but has played one of the strongest schedules in the area and was a regional runner-up in D2 last season with many of those players returning on this year’s team.
Springfield Local
Springfield Local remains No. 7.
The Tigers are 9-4 overall and lead the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Scarlet Division with a 6-0 league record.
