April Kirkwood, a Youngstown, Ohio, native, was on the first ever season of the Golden Bachelor and now she’s shooting her second shot at love on this season of Bachelor in Paradise (BIP).

But there’s one huge twist: it’s the golden age of BIP. That means, Kirkwood will be roaming the beach with singles her own age and younger singles from past seasons of the Bachelor and Bachelorette.

Earlier this year, it was announced that this season of BIP would be like no other, as it will have “two generations thirsty for love.”

Here’s what else to know:

What to know about April Kirkwood

April Kirkwood joined the first ever cast of the Golden Bachelor in 2023 and put her heart on the line for Bachelor Gerry, but unfortunately didn’t get the final rose. Although Kirkwood’s journey to love was cut short, she quickly became a fan favorite with her style, sass and epic one-liners.

Here are more things we love about her:

She’s got a past and she’s not afraid to share it.

In 2015, Kirkwood released her memoir called “Big Girls Do Cry.” In it, she wrote about having an affair with then 39-year-old Frankie Valli when she was 16 years old. The book has 3.3 out of 5 stars on Amazon.

She loves dogs and well, so do we.

She told Entertainment Tonight that she would love to volunteer at local shelters and even donate some of her gowns from the Golden Bachelor to shelters in the area.
