JD Eicher headlining Canfield’s kickoff to Fourth of July
Ready to celebrate Independence Day?
In less than a week, plan to head to Canfield for fireworks, live entertainment, and a parade at the fairgrounds starting Saturday.
July 1
Start celebrating the Fourth of July this Saturday at the Canfield Fairgrounds.
Gates open at the fairgrounds at 5:30 p.m., where you can grab a bite from food trucks and vendors.
Recording artist and Canfield native JD Eicher takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. for a special concert.
Stick around after the show for a fireworks display by Zambelli’s at the fairground set to start around 10 p.m.
The admission price is $10 per car and $2 for walk-ins.
July 4
Fourth of July festivities begin early at 8:15 a.m. with the kids’ race, starting and ending in front of Farmers National Bank on the Green.
Right after the kids finish, runners will take off in the annual Firecracker 4-mile run, starting by the Canfield Methodist Church.
If you’re interested in participating in the races, register online here.
Canfield Fourth of July parade
It’s parade day! The theme is One Land, One Flag, One Heart. Participants are encouraged to include this theme in their decorations.
The Canfield Fourth of July parade starts at the fairgrounds at 10:10 a.m. Then the parade will travel north on South Broad Street, circling the Green and continuing west on Lisbon Street.
Some highlights in the parade include the Canfield Pride Marching Band and the North Coast pipe and drum unit.
The parade will end in the middle school parking lot. After the parade, head back to the Green for family activities.
Meet the grand marshal
The grand marshal leading the parade will be Canfield native and businessman Michal Naffah and his wife, Karen. He owns The Embassy Banquet Hall in Youngstown, which has been in business for 40 years.
The Naffahs are also involved in local fundraising projects, including St. Michael’s Church, the Canfield School’s Big Boosters, the new gazebo in the center of Canfield, and the Melina Michelle Edenfield Foundation.
Enjoy music performed by Boardman’s 2K23 Pop/Rock band.
Check out the classic cars from the parade up close at a car show in the parking lot behind Farmers Bank, sponsored by Haus Auto Group.
