Number of COVID-19 hospitalizations decrease in Ohio, while death rates increase slightly
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the overall number of people in the U.S. testing positive for COVID-19 is decreasing.
The CDC data shows there are fewer COVID-19 patients being admitted to emergency rooms in the U.S.
Despite this, the number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 has increased by around three percent across the country.
According to the Ohio Department of Health, 44 people died from COVID-19 in the first week of October, an increase from 28 COVID-19 deaths in the middle of September.
Mahoning, Trumbull counties back to low
Earlier this fall, the number of new COVID-19 hospitalizations in Mahoning and Trumbull counties was at a medium level, according to the CDC.
The hospitalization rates in all three counties in Mahoning Valley are now gone back down to low like most of the rest of Ohio.
