The City of Youngstown’s Community Planning and Economic Development Department is seeking applicants for a current job opening.

What does a social service navigator do?
This job is an independent contractor position, according to the Community Planning and Economic Development Department.
The social service navigator manages overall communication between social service providers.
They’ll also set up community engagement events and connect proper resources to city residents.
The ideal candidate is willing to engage with the community, skilled at public speaking and readily listens to concerns and complaints from community members.
Part of the job entails writing and editing city announcements.
The social service navigator will also work with other departments to advance the city’s online and in-person engagement in matters about city residents.
The salary ranges from $50,000 - $57,000 per year.
What are the job requirements?
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field like public relations, communications, or administration, either business or public.
They’re looking for someone with two years of experience in a public service organization dealing with community public relations.
