The board of the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber released a statement opposing Issue 2 and legalizing marijuana in Ohio.

According to Guy Coviello, president and CEO of the Regional Chamber, the Board of Directors are against passing Issue 2.

They said commercializing and taxing marijuana could have significant negative impacts on residents and businesses in the area.

“We have heard clearly and loudly from our members that passage of this initiative would be detrimental to the Valley and have negative, far-reaching consequences for those who live and work here,” said Coviello. “The region is poised for great economic success, especially in manufacturing and transportation, in coming years. This legislation could diminish that success.”
