‘Above and beyond their call of duty:’ AAA recognizes local police departments for safety

AAA East Central recognized local law enforcement in northeast Ohio for their focus on community safety.

“We are honored to recognize these local departments for their efforts in the Community Traffic Safety Program,” said Theresa Podguski, director of legislative affairs at AAA East Central. “Each organization has gone above and beyond their call of duty to make their community a safer place for motorists and residents.”

Twenty-seven northeast Ohio departments received platinum awards for going above and beyond to increase safety on the roads.

Additionally, 25 departments were honored with gold, silver and bronze awards.

Valley law enforcement agencies recognized

Ohio State Highway Patrol posts in Canfield and Warren both received the top platinum award.

AAA recognizes the 27 platinum award winners as leaders in their Community Traffic Safety program.

The Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office and the police department at North Eastern Ohio Medical University received gold awards from AAA.

The Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office received a silver award.

The Boardman, Canfield, Niles and Youngstown police departments were also given silver awards.
