Choffin Career and Technical students earn state licenses in dental radiography

Choffin students licensed in dental radiography
Three students at the Choffin Career and Technical Center’s YouMed Academy in Youngstown earned their state dental radiography licenses.
Leeasia, Jermae and Trinity each passed the Ohio State Dental Radiography Licensure exam and learned how to perform clinical X-ray procedures.
Their instructor in Dental Assisting and Radiography in the YouMed Academy at Choffin is Robyn Markovitch.
Youngstown-based student recognized by Great River Connections Academy
Sophomore Trevor Schmitt was recently selected to be a student of the month at Great River Connections Academy, online public school for K-12 students.

Schmitt, who lives in Youngstown, was recognized for his achievements and leadership in the virtual classroom at Great River Connections which is headquartered in Columbus.
“I love this school because everyone is very nice,” Schmitt said. “The work is easier for me because if I have any problems, I can ask my teacher anytime. Connections Academy is a great school.”
Schmitt was nominated by his teacher, Mrs. Phillips. As a student of the month, Trevor will receive a certificate of achievement and be profiled in the Great River Connections Academy student newsletter and the school’s social media platforms.
“Our students of the month demonstrate leadership and an extraordinary commitment to learning while serving as strong role models for their peers,” said Jason Swinehart, Principal at Great River Connections Academy. “The members of our faculty and staff are proud to give these virtual classroom leaders the recognition they deserve.”
