Police investigate reported Youngstown shooting near gas station

A 26-year-old man is dead after a car he was driving at 4 a.m. Tuesday morning crashed through a fence and ended up near a parking lot in the area of Logan and Saranac, across from Logan Gas Mart.

At the same time, Youngstown police received a call for about gunfire in the area.

When police arrived they found a black vehicle that appeared to have been struck by gunfire. The driver, Tyrone Chatman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is being investigated as a homicide.
