Drug bust by Trumbull Action Group investigates Girard home

Investigators with the Trumbull Action Group (TAG) anti-drug task force early on Friday executed a search warrant in the 400 block of Churchill Road in the city of Girard as part of a drug trafficking investigation.

Deputies with the Trumbull County Sheriff’s task force recovered undisclosed amounts of suspected cocaine, crack cocaine and heroin. The substances were forwarded to the Richfield laboratory of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations for testing. If the substances test positive for illegal narcotics, authorities stated appropriate criminal charges will be filed.

The news release stated the task force also recovered miscellaneous drug paraphernalia, three firearms and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. The TAG task force, led by sheriff’s Capt. Michael Yanucci, were assited by the Brookfield Township, Howland Township and Girard city police department as well as troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the news release stated.
