Newton Falls man faces at least six months in prison after guilty plea to fentanyl felony
Gary R. Gibson, 43, of Newton Falls, pleaded guilty to a fourth-degree possession of a fentanyl-related compound felony Tuesday before Judge Andrew D. Logan of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.
The case stemmed from a Feb. 11, 2021, traffic stop on Warren Ravenna Road in Newton Township where members of the sheriff’s TAG anti-drug task force found 1.03 grams of a substance that later tested positive for a heroin/fentanyl mix, prosecutors stated. Gibson, who could face between six and 18 months in prison, will submit to a background investigation by probation officers prior to sentencing.
