Columbiana man sentenced to 13-18 years in jail for role in murdering Rusty Steele
A man pleaded guilty to conspiring to shoot and kill 40-year-old Rusty Steele last year, according to Columbiana County Prosecutor Vito Abruzzino.
Steele was shot and killed in Lisbon last March according to Lisbon police.
Christopher Mills, 43, joined co-defendant Michael Blower in pleading guilty to the charges against them.
The prosecutor’s office said Mills pleaded guilty this week to charges of conspiracy to murder and obstruction of justice.
Mills, who used to live in Washingtonville, was sentenced to anywhere from 13 and 18 years in prison.
Blower, his co-defendant, has a sentencing hearing scheduled March 22 after he pleaded guilty to his charges, according to the prosecutor’s office.
Prosecutor Abruzzino thanked the Lisbon Police Department for their work in the investigation into Steele’s death.
