Which businesses have opened and closed in the Mahoning Valley in 2025?
For the Mahoning Valley, it’s already been a busy year with brand new business owners taking leaps of faith with grand openings and businesses that have been open for generations announcing the end of an era.
In 2025, some owners opened businesses for the first time, tested out new locations and expanded to secondary offices to fit the needs of their growing clientele.
But this year, some owners have also realized they’re ready to retire or their restaurants may never recover from struggles like the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mahoning Matters has compiled a list of businesses that opened around 2025 as well as businesses that shuttered in that same time.
These are businesses that opened at the end of 2024 and in 2025, as well as businesses who announced they’re closing at the end of 2024 into 2025.
They’re located in the Mahoning, Columbiana and Trumbull county areas, as well as a few in western Pennsylvania.
